The DHL Western Province Under-19 team kept up their unbeaten run at DHL Newlands this season, with a 16-6 win over the Sharks on Saturday afternoon.
With most of the match played in the pouring rain, the home side took the lead just before halftime – after trailing 0-3 for most of the first half.
They look the lead through a try by captain and hooker Freddie Kirsten in the 32nd minute, with flyhalf Tommy Allan converting, and they never looked back.
Allan then added a penalty on the stroke of halftime, for a 10-3 lead at the break, and two more Allan penalties in the second half – despite one from the Sharks’ Brendan Cope – saw the Blue & Whites close out as 16-6 winners.
The DHL WP Under-19 team have played four matches this season, winning three and losing just once.
