The 2015 WP Rugby Schools Rugby Day produced plenty top-quality schoolboy action, with Mini Rugby, Under-13 action and five Under-19 matches taking place at DHL Newlands on Tuesday, March 24.

The day began with some Under-9 Mini Rugby action at 15h00, before the Under-13 teams of Parklands Primary School and Dr GJ Joubert locked horns at 15h20.

Thereafter it was the turn of the Under-19 boys, with wins for Wynberg Boys’ High School, Bellville HS, Paarl Boys’ HS, Paarl Gim and Rondebosch Boys’ HS in the five senior fixtures.

The final match, between Paul Roos and Rondebosch Boys’ High School, was without doubt the most exciting fixture of the day as Rondebosch converted their 5-0 half-time lead into a tense 15-10 win, the Men from Rondebosch pulling off a last-ditch tackle to save the game after the full-time hooter had sounded.

As always, there was plenty of support with many schoolboys and schoolgirls making their presence felt in the Main Grandstand at DHL Newlands – yet another great day of schoolboy rugby in the 12th annual WP Rugby Schools Day.
